Laurel (Bay) Leaves is a Mediterranean
plant. It is seen all the line along Mediterranean Sea. It is collected and gathered
by villagers from the nature which is growing totally wildly. No farming for this
item is traced until now. This material can be used as a culinary herb also as
ornamental purposes. It is one of the main ingredients of Curry . Lately we have
started also to dehydrate the fresh leaves in our own machinery .In this case
the bright green colour is retained.
We are preparing
3 different qualities . Whole leaves are sold as Hand Picked Selected quality, can be sized
upon request (3-7cm etc). Also Semi Selected quality, which has around 10% whole leaves and
rest broken leaves inside. The last one is for industrial purpose Cut Laurel Leaves. Those
are leaves cut by machine to size requested (2*2mm / 5*8mm etc). According to Exporter Union
Statistics Turkey is exporting around 4600 tones a year to whole world.
